Dayton SMART Elementary is a free public charter school. The school operates using public tax dollars and its charter is authorized by the Ohio Council of Community Schools. Students are eligible for state and federal programs; all breakfasts and lunches are no charge to students.

Any student within Ohio is eligible to apply for a grade. The school does not consider grades or test scores. We will serve students in Kindergarten – 5th grade for the 2021-2022 school year. Learn more about enrollment here.
No, current DSE students do not have to re-apply. Current students just need to indicate their intent to return in February and DSE asks that you notify the school if you do not plan on returning.
